In the beautiful city of Limerick, we had the incredible opportunity to co-host an international conference. The theme of the conference was “Reconnecting through Learning and Play,” which aimed to create a platform for parents and their children to strengthen their bond while exploring new and innovative approaches to protecting and promoting the rights of inmates.
The conference was a truly worthwhile and interesting event, as it went beyond traditional presentations and lectures. It featured a thought-provoking panel discussion that delved into cross-sectoral approaches to meeting the multiple needs of children, particularly those with a parent who is imprisoned. This discussion shed light on the important work being done by Irish officials in the prison industry and provided valuable insights for our organization, Connecting Hearts.
At Connecting Hearts, we are committed to addressing the specific needs of children affected by incarceration of their parents. The COPE event gave us a deeper understanding of these needs and has further fueled our determination to make a positive impact in the lives of these children. We believe that by emphasizing the importance of education, play, and emotional support, we can contribute to their well-being and help them navigate the challenges they face.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the future and the opportunities it holds. We are eager to build upon the knowledge gained from the conference and continue our work in advocating for the rights of these vulnerable children. Our hope is to make an even greater impact in the future, ensuring that no child is left behind and that they receive the support and care they deserve.
