Connecting Hearts collaborates with Annelyn Smit, founder of notmycrime.nl
The “Let’s Get Loud” dance program is launching in November at the correctional facility of Nieuwegein, Netherlands. Following a successful pilot, the project once again brings together fathers and their children through movement, creativity, and shared joy.
Over the course of several dance sessions, participants meet regularly to dance and reconnect in meaningful ways. Each class provides space for expression, energy, and genuine togetherness – a rare and valuable experience in the correctional setting.
Through dance, fathers and children build trust, strengthen their bond, and create lasting memories that reach far beyond the prison walls.
The project will conclude with a final performance inside the prison in Nieuwegein, where families will be invited to attend.
The choice of music is still a secret – but one thing’s for sure: it will be a surprise full of heart, rhythm, and maybe even a touch of Christmas sparkle!
